A tiny world atop a wall;
Fuzzy moss turf and great fern trees,
Damp earth and cold stone.
One can only imagine a bug’s eye view
Of this mystical land.

Really like the texture and the idea that there is more than one perspective of this great photo!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely photo, and a beautiful poem.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lesley! I really appreciate that. :)
DeleteI can envision the bugs in this mystical land.
ReplyDeleteCan you? Are you seeing some sort of big-eyed rainbow beetle like I am? Thanks for popping in!
DeleteLove this photo! Great words, too!
ReplyDeleteLove it! A bugs eye view would be interesting
ReplyDeleteI've always loved fuzzy moss, but you've made it magical!

ReplyDeleteI imagine fairies must live up there.
Don't you just love the tiny ecosystems you find hidden in unexpected places? Cool picture and I really like your poem!
ReplyDeleteOh yes! And this was quite unexpected. I might have missed it had my husband not parked in the parking spot he did. I appreciate you taking the time to drop in. :)
DeleteThis one speaks to me! Not just because there is no snow or ice in it... I like the words as well.
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks bunches! We've been lucky and haven't had any of the freak snow or ice in over two weeks. . .I should probably go knock on some wood now!!
DeleteSo fun. Maybe you need to get out a magnifying glass and see what's in this little spot of land.
ReplyDeletethat is totally beautiful and reminds me of the miniature villages we made as children using mom's salad bowl and some moss. a mirror became a lake!
ReplyDeleteJean- Aw, thanks! It reminds me of something similar. . . we made terrariums in 4th grade with moss and ferns like this. We inverted 3 liter coke bottles (the ones that had the black bottoms (do you remember those in the 80s?)) to make the terrariums. I remember running all over the school grounds looking for mossy patches to pull up. It was so fun. I like the idea of a mirror as a like too. I might just have to break down and make me some terrariums!! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly the sort of world that I would find myself lost in when I was a kid! Shifting perspective like that really makes the world seem like an even grander place. This is a beautiful shot and makes me long for spring! Thank you for joining in the 30 Words Challenge, Miss Hope! Enjoy the day. Erin
