Mine was long!! One of my best friends, my mom, my brother-in-law, and I stayed up late talking. I'm exhausted.
However, I just wanted to stop in to mention a few subjects.
The nieces stayed over this weekend. As usual, there was some crafting involved. Oldest niece created these polymer clay discs. As you can see, we started a necklace with them before she lost interest. I just had to share her creativity.
Secondly, I was just wondering. . .now that I have all these new clothes, is it weird that I don't wash them before wearing them? I mean, I don't know who else tried them on or what might have brushed up against them, but no one's ever told me to wash them first. I've always been a buy-and-wear kind of girl and never really thought anything of it. I actually don't know what made me consider it after all these years. So, do you wash or do you just wear?
I signed up today for the Ornament Swap over at WireWorked. Today's the LAST DAY to sign up for the swap. You literally have a few hours left. HURRY!!
Vintaj is having a giveaway. I just have to say: I want to win the @vintajco & @beadaholique Crystal Copper Giveaway! #ilovevintaj (go here to find out how you can enter too)
Lastly, I re-listed these earrings today.

Hopefully I'll get to bed earlier tonight and have my thoughts better organized!
How fun that your neiece got to create with you!
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit of a germ-a-phobe, so I've always washed my clothes before I wear them. There's probably nothing wrong with wearing them right away.
I would be thrilled to win the Vintaj giveaway! Crossing my fingers!
Love the blue in those discs. You're the fun aunt!
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I wash before wearing/using is underwear (yes, I know no one is supposed to try it on in the store, but EWWWW), sheets, and towels. Other than than that, my laundry pile is usually too monstrously huge to add anything else to it ;-)
I'm like you, no one ever told me to wash first. But, a few years ago, we were having issues with the processing chemicals in them, so we started washing first. You know, it' s that kinda strange smell some of them have? Love the polymer clay piece. Great work, crafty kids! Ok, I'm gonna go head over and check out the ornament swap now. :)
ReplyDeleteI used to always wash stuff, and now I wash most stuff. If I think I might have to iron it I skip washing until after I've worn it though. I almost never buy anything that has to be ironed, but sometimes the Flax I buy for "dressy" occasions need the iron.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, I read several years ago that pesticide residue was found on some imported cotton garments. Cotton accounts for something like 80 percent of the pesticide use worldwide. Yikes!
