On Thursday, we found out that the renovations would start today. With that news, I frantically started cleaning out all the cabinets on one side of the kitchen.
The wall straight ahead and the one to the left are the ones to be removed |
This was actually this morning, but you can see how big that unused room actually is! |
Since we want to save and reuse the cabinets from the kitchen, Pat took down several of those this morning.
The workmen helped him move the rest.
Check out all the different wall colors!! |
They started with the drywall in the front room |
Here's a view from the kitchen of how it stands now. |
Talking to Pat, he says it's pretty awesome to be able to see from the sunroom into the living room. We were told that the walls should be done within a few days and they'll finish up details and painting next week. After all our talk about this project, I'm amazed at how fast it's moving along!
I'll update more later!
Nothing like a reno to make the holidays more stressful! Remember to be jolly!!

wow! how exciting to be doing all that renovation! can't wait to see how it all turns out
ReplyDeleteWow! That IS moving along fast. I don't blame you for wanting to leave the house while the work was being done. I have a nervous nature too. (times 1000) lol It looks like it's going to be fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYeah, they told us it would only take 10 days so it should be done before Christmas! Pat's there with the animals overseeing everything. It's going to be a long road though once the walls are removed, we've got to put new floor down, build an island and a bookcase, and paint the kitchen and cabinets. Pat keeps reminding me that I need to be patient as it won't all happen immediately. I'm just relieved that we've finally gotten started on it. :) Thanks for stopping in and offering your support.
DeleteHoping all goes well and finished before Christmas! I'm pretty impatient to see the results :)
ReplyDeleteGood Luck! I can't wait to see how it turns out.
ReplyDeleteKathy,
DeleteThanks you! The walls are down and the beams are up. It's not done, but we're already LOVING IT! I know it will be a while before we get all of it done as we're going to do some of it ourselves. So, it'll be a while before the end. However, I'll be posting more pictures once the workmen get their part done. Stay tuned!!
Looks like all the hard work is paying off :) looking forward to seeing more picture of the progress!
ReplyDeleteI wish you a very merry Christmas :)
